AFC Championship: Broncos vs. Patriots
The Broncos are coming off another close call against the Steelers, getting revenge for Pittsburgh's dirty regular season play. Meanwhile, New England, the defending Super Bowl champs, caused a Pat-riot in last year's AFC championship game. Here's what you need to know:
1: Manning-Brady Bowl XVII
Football fans everywhere were disappointed to find that the Broncos would start youthful benchwarmer Brock Osweiler against the Pats, erasing the possibility of a Manning-Brady matchup in the regular season. But fans got what they were hoping for as Manning rises from the bench to finish an excellent season in Denver. He faces off against Darth Brader, football hero to some, football villain to many. Brady has thus far won 11 of these matchups; Manning, however, has only won 5. The Broncos look to bring the tally to six in the two Hall-of-Famers' seventeenth battle.
2: The Greatest D
Everybody's wondering whether the Broncos could bring home the Lombardi trophy as well as the Lamar Hunt trophy. Maybe their offense isn't great, but their defense is Super Bowl-worthy. Featuring such stars as Von Miller, Aqib Talib, Demarcus Ware, and Chris Harris Jr., they hope to knock off the Deflatriots and punch their ticket to Santa Clara. But can they do it? It seems unlikely, but they've made it this far.
3: The Cheaters
Who likes a cheater?
Nobody I know. Except Dakota. He's a Pats fan.
Anyway, I have to catch the game. Only time will tell who will win. Stay tuned for my NFC Championship preview!
